Pampers in Paris

Don't get me wrong... I adore Nicolas Ghesquière, but does anyone else think the models at Balenciaga looked like they were swaddled in Huggies?

I may try a toned down version of this skirt because I think the draping and colors are absolutely gorgeous.

I agree. I immediately noticed something was off about the skirts. It's definitely the positioning of them on the hips. It should be higher up like high-waisted style. It's so awkward and unflattering!

But I do agree that the colors are gorgeous. I especially love the peachy pink with the cream and the grey-blue.

My initial reaction was "ooh, pretty!" As I looked closer I discovered that the 2nd one from the left was definitely odd but the middle one had it going on. The difference is where it is on the model. I would definitely inch up the skirt too hit on the waist. The draping is gorgeous though!

maybe it would look better if he rotated the weird pleating to on side.

definitely haha. I feel like this is one of those looks that will look mch better in a toned down version for RTW.

hah you totally nailed it when you said swaddled in huggies. i totally agree with a toned town version - i like the IDEA of the draped skirt, but i think he executed it a bit wrong . .. (as if i should be giving nicolas ghesquiere tips on fashion lmao) xx

I like these skirts, might try and create one myself (but it'll probably end up being rubbish). Great blog!

Oh my! The colors and fabrics are stunning and the drapes and folds are beautiful but the skirt is unfortunately un-flattering. I'm guessing that this piece looks better on the hanger, I hate to say that but I think it's true. ShopMonica
